About The Program

ICAR-IARI Division of Genetics Junior Research Fellowship 2022 is a research opportunity offered by ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi to master's degree holders. The selected candidate is required to work on a DBT funded research project entitled - "Germplasm Characterization and Trait Discovery in Wheat Using Genomics Approaches and its Integration for Improving Climate Resilience, Productivity, and Nutritional Quality". The selected fellow will receive INR 31,000 per month plus HRA.

To be eligible, an applicant must -

  • Be below 35 years of age
  • Hold a master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/B.Tech. degree in Biotechnology

 

Desirable Qualifications -

  • Have experience in biochemical and molecular techniques, and wheat crop operations.
  • Be UGC-National Eligibility Test, CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship), GATE, OR a National level exam conducted by Central government departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IISER etc. qualified
Benefits

The selected fellows will receive awards in the following ways

  • For National examination qualified scholars - INR 31,000 plus HRA
  • For Non-scholars - INR 25,000 plus HRA

 

Note - Any changes in the above as notified by the Ministry of Science and Technology, India will be applicable to the selected candidate.

The selection of the candidates will be made based on the applicant's performance in the interview.

  • Age Limit for the positions is 35 years. Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years relaxation for SC/ST and woman candidates as per Government/ ICAR guidelines.
  • The minimum age should be of 18 years as of the date of the interview.
  • Only the candidates shortlisted on the basis of the CV sent by them would be intimated for the interview.
  • No objection certificate from the employer should be attached, in case he/ she has an employment failing which candidature will not be considered.
  • Canvassing in any form would lead to disqualification of the candidate.
  • The selected candidates will not claim for any regular appointments at this institute as the above positions are purely contractual, non-regular, time-bound and are co-terminus with the project.
