About The Program

Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh, invites applications from Indian graduates of all streams for the HILLs (Himalayan Institute of Live Learnings) Fellowship 2019, an 11-month residential program that aims to empower the youth with environmentally sustainable solutions relevant specifically to those living in mountainous regions. 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

The fellowship is open to graduates of all ages and streams.
Please Note: Mathematics at 10th Standard level is compulsory. Although preferable at 12th Standard as well, it is not compulsory.

Benefits

The Institute shall reimburse the tuition fee of INR 1,90,000 in the form of a monthly stipend paid to the fellows in the course of the 11-month program.

  • Marksheet for Class 12
  • Marksheet for Graduation
  • Portfolio/Body of Work

Step 3: Fill in your details and upload your documents
Step 4: Upload your 'Statement of Purpose' and your references
Step 5: Finally, upload your signature and submit the application 

Important Dates

Timeline for HILLs Fellowship 2019

  • Last date for submitting application form: 30th November 2018
  • Skype interview: 2nd week of December
  • 6-day camp in Leh: 11th - 16th March 2019
  • Results: 25th March 2019
  • Program begins: 22nd April 2019
Selection Criteria

The Selection Process is conducted in 4 stages:

Stage 1: Application forms are screened for eligibility
Stage 2: 'Statement of Purpose' and the 'Big Idea' of the candidate is evaluated 
Stage 3:  Qualified applicants are called for a Skype interview
Stage 4: Shortlisted candidates are invited for a 6-day camp in Leh

On the basis of the 6-day camp, the final fellows are selected
