About The Program

The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) invites applications for GREEN Olympiad 2019 from students of class 4 to 10. The GREEN Olympiad is an annual written examination for school students across India and abroad to help them test their knowledge quotient. The Olympiad aims to help students improve their understanding of sustainable development which can then be translated into environment improvement activities at the school level.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

The Olympiad is open to school students in India and abroad who are studying in class 4 to 10. However, the students must be enrolled in schools affiliated to recognised education boards and educational trusts.

The Olympiad will be conducted at three levels:

  • Level 1 - Classes 4 & 5
  • Level 2 - Classes 6, 7 & 8
  • Level 3 - Classes 9 & 10
Benefits

Individual awards will be given in the following manner-

  • Certificate and Medals/Mementos to Country winners
  • Certificate and Medals/Mementos to State winners
  • Certificate of Distinction, Certificate of Merit, and Certificate of Participation to students based on their individual performance
  • Certificate of Appreciation for teacher coordinators

The following incentives will be awarded to schools-

  • Special mementos to schools for continuous participation in GREEN Olympiad for 10 years
  • Attractive discounts on EduXcursion camps to be organized by TERI
  • Preference to participate in other projects and activities initiated by TERI
  • Special discount for schools on select Publications/Journals/Products distributed by TERI
  • Special social contribution by free of cost nomination of additional up to 15 students from each registered school

How can you apply?

Follow the below steps to apply for the Olympiad-

Step 1: Visit the online registration portal.
Step 2: Students cannot register individually. Thus the respective schools need to upload the list of participants on the registration portal.
Step 3: Pay the registration fee of INR 75 through bank draft or online transfer (find bank details below).
Step 4: In the registration form, provide student and school details.
Step 5: Fill the payment details and upload the list of participants.
Step 6: Submit the online registration form.
Step 7: Alternatively, registration can also be completed through paper mode.
Step 8: Fill in the following registration form (or this form for schools abroad) with the required details.
Step 9: Send the registration form along with payment details by post to the following address-

Terms and Conditions
  • The GREEN Olympiad will be an objective-type question based environment exam.
  • The exam tests environment awareness and analytical skills of students.
  • Students can only register for the Olympiad through their schools. Individual registration is not allowed.
  • Participation of minimum 10 students is necessary from each school which in turn will act as the exam centre.
  • The Olympiad results will be posted to schools as well as will be available online.
  • The registration fee is INR 75 for each student.
  • It is allowed to nominate one teacher per level. For e.g., if a school is participating in 2 levels then 2 teachers can be nominated.
