Irish Research Council, Ireland invites applications for the Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 2021 from PhD holders. This fellowship aims to support suitable eligible candidates for postdoctoral study at higher education institutions in Ireland. Selected fellows will receive an annual salary of EUR 31,275 and other benefits.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • Be an international student 
    • Have graduated or certified for the award of a doctoral degree
    • Have submitted the hardbound corrected thesis, within the recent five years between 31 May 2015 and 31 May 2020

    Benefits:

    The selected students will get the following awards:

    • A salary of EUR 31,275 per annum
    • Employer’s PRSI contribution of EUR 3,455 per annum
    • Employer’s pension contribution of EUR 6,255 per annum 
    • Eligible direct research expenses of EUR 5,000 per annum.

Selection Criteria

Selected will be made based on the academic merit and the research aptitude as details mentioned in the application. 
 

Terms and Conditions
  • Scholars must engage full-time in their scholarship during the funding term and not assume any other duties that would adversely affect the research. 
  • From time to time, the Council will require the scholar to attend socio-academic events or meetings as arranged by the Council.
