An applicant must be studying in class 5 to 10. The participation will be made under three key class groups -
- Classes 5 and 6
- Classes 7 and 8
- Classes 9 and 10
Note: The interns, contractors, employees, official office holders and their immediate family members, any representative or agencies of Google are not eligible to participate in the contest.
Benefits
Total 15 winners (5 from each class group) will receive -
- A certificate of achievement
- A Chromebook laptop or an equivalent gift
- All finalists will receive a certificate of achievement
How can you apply?
The registrations for the contest will be made online by the respective computer teachers of the students through following steps -
Step 1: The teachers can nominate up to 5 students from each class by
registering here.
Step 2: Fill in all required details and save.
Step 3: Once registered,
nominate the students by filling their required details.
Step 4: Upload the project prepared by the participants.
Step 5: Repeat the process for each student to be nominated.
Step 6: Once done with all the nominations, finally submit the registrations.
Important Dates
Registration open- 11 May 2018
Submission of the project begins- 14 June 2018
Last date to submit the project- 15 August 2018
The announcement of finalists- On or after 15 October 2018
The announcement of winners- On or after 1 November 2018
Selection Criteria
The winners will be selected on the following criterions -
- The originality of the project
- Application of computer science concepts
- The complexity of the project
- Adherence to the contest rules and requirements
Terms and Conditions
- The applicants are required to create a project using Scratch or App Inventor (fun and cool tools) created by MIT.
- A teacher can nominate maximum 10 students from each class category i.e. maximum 30 students from a school can participate.
- 15 finalists from each class group will be selected by a panel of judges.
- Out of the 15 finalists, 5 winners will be announced after the second round of judgement.
- The teachers are required to upload a nomination letter on the official letterhead signed by the school head.
