About The Program

The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Fellowship 2025-26  is offered by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of Washington. This prestigious fellowship provides early-career researchers and professionals with the opportunity to contribute to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study. Selected fellows will receive structured training, mentorship, and hands-on research experience to build capacity in global health measurement and analysis.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • hold a PhD, MD, DPhil, or MBBS degree
  • have a degree of strong foundation in quantitative methods from fields like epidemiology, demography, biostatistics, medical sciences, health policy, economics, mathematics, computer science, statistics, or related areas
  • have research experience, particularly in data analysis and statistical methods
