About The Program

The Gates Cambridge University Scholarship 2026-27 is an opportunity provided by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to students pursuing postgraduate or PhD courses at the University of Cambridge. The selected students will receive a maintenance allowance of up to £21,000 (₹25,21,936 approx.) and other benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • Belong to any country other than the UK
  • Be pursuing a postgraduate or PhD degree in the University of Cambridge
     
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive:
Core Components

  • Full coverage of the University Composition Fee (at the appropriate rate).
  • Maintenance allowance for a single student (£21,000 (₹25,21,936 approx.)for 12 months at the 2024-25 rate; pro rata for shorter courses; up to 4 years for PhD scholars).
  • One economy single airfare at the beginning and end of the course.
  • Coverage of inbound visa costs.
  • Coverage of the Immigration Health Surcharge.

Discretionary Components

  • Academic development funding (£500 to £2,000 depending on the course length) for conferences and courses.
  • Dependent Children Allowance (up to £11,604 for one child, up to £16,548 for two or more children at the 2024-25 rate).
  • Continued maintenance allowance during PhD fieldwork (excluding other fieldwork costs).
  • Maternity or paternity funding (up to 6 months of study intermission with continued maintenance allowance).
  • Hardship funding for unforeseen difficulties.

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-

Step 5: Enter your email ID and password and click on the black colour ‘Register’ button to proceed with your application.
