About The Program

United States‐India Educational Foundation(USIEF) invites applications for Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowships 2018 from Ph.D., postgraduate, 5 years work exp, faculty, research professional students. The fellowship is for four to nine months. If a candidate is applying for a Flex Award, the minimum length of the total grant is four months and the maximum is six months.

  • Faculty or researchers having Ph.D. degree or equivalent having at least five years of teaching or research experience,
  • Master degree or published work with recognized professional standing and at least five years relevant experience;
  • The applicant has to upload a recent published paper or article.
  • If the applicant is employed at the time of submitting the application carefully read employer’s endorsement before applying. Make sure that applicant will get leave for the fellowship period.
  • Must have a high level of academic or professional achievement.
  • Proficiency in the English language is must i.e English proficiency test (TOEFL).

Terms and Conditions

The applications are invited for the following Science fields: Agricultural, Bioengineering, Climate Change, Computer, Economics, Education Policy and Planning, Energy, International Law Security and Strategic Studies, Material, Neuroscience, Public Health and Policy, Study of India, Study of the United States, Urban and Regional Planning and Women and Gender Studies.

Under this fellowship, J-1 visa support, round-trip economy class air travel between India and the U.S., a monthly stipend, Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges per U.S. Government guidelines, a modest settling-in allowance, and a professional allowance will be provided.Flex grantees are not eligible for dependent benefits.
