About The Program
Free Books Scheme for SC Students, Haryana 2023-24 is an opportunity offered by the Department of Welfare of Scheduled Caste & Backward Classes, Government of Haryana, to promote higher education among the SC community students of the state.
The selected candidates will receive ₹2,000 per student for the purchase of books.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be domiciled in Haryana
- belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community
- be enrolled in a course at the post-matric level in a recognised institution/college/university of Haryana
- have obtained at least 60% attendance in the classes
Benefits
The selected candidates will receive ₹2,000 per student for the purchase of books.
Documents
Applicants are required to submit a photocopy of the following documents:
- Caste certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Marksheet/certificates of the previous examination passed based on which the applicant has sought admission in the present class
How can you apply?
Eligible applicants can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
Step 3: Navigate to 'Student Registration', under the 'Student' section at the top left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Enter the Parivar Pehchaan Patra (Family ID), choose the applicant's name from the displayed list, and click the 'Generate OTP' button.
Step 5: Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and click on the 'Verify OTP' button.
Step 6: After OTP verification, all the details get auto-filled in the registration form. Please cross-check the information.
Step 7: Select the Department and College, create a password, and click on the 'Register' button.
Step 8: Click the login link at the portal and enter valid credentials to apply for the scholarship.
Step 9: Provide all necessary details like course, roll no., eligibility, etc.
Step 10: Click on the 'Apply' button to save and submit the application.

The amount for books will be paid annually, directly to the students' bank accounts in October.
College principals will submit verified student data on the Online Scholarship Portal. Subsequently, registration branches of the respective universities will perform a second-step verification on the same portal.
Then, all the data will be forwarded to the directorate for final verification and disbursement under the process of PFMS to the beneficiary in their respective Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
