About The Program

Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award 2018 invites application from the students of all over the world whose age should be between 11 to 17 years. The objective of this program is to enhance the writing skills of the young students.

  • Open to all
  • Age should be between 11 to 17 years as on 31st July 2018
Benefits
  • The winners will receive a range of prizes which also includes a membership of The Poetry Society
  • A stack of goodies related to poetry
  • An offer to attend a week-long residential Arvon course, which helps in to develop the writing skills
  • An option to read last year’s top 15 winning poems
How can you apply?

The interested applicants can submit their entries online through following steps:

Online:

Step 1: Click here to register as a new user
Step 2: Enter the name, email id and password
Step 3: Click to fill the form
Step 4: Fill the personal and contact details
Step 5: Click on the "Check and Continue" button
Step 6: A link will be open, write the title of the poem and poem there
Step 5: Click on "Check and Submit" and then submit

By post:

Step 1: Download the application form
Step 2: Fill the personal and contact details
Step 3: Attach the poem
Step 4: Send it to the given address:

All the 100 winners will be invited to an award ceremony on the 2nd October 2018.

Terms and Conditions
  • The poem can be on any topic
  • The poem must be in English
  • The poem can be of any length
  • The poem must be the original one and must not be published anywhere
  • The poem should be written by one author only
  • If the applicant is between the age group 11-12 years, the parent or the guardian has to give permission for the same
  • The decision of the judge should be final
