To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be pursuing a professional 5-year integrated law course
- be currently enrolled in the first year of their studies
- have passed their higher secondary/pre-university/intermediate/CBSE/ISC or equivalent board qualifying examination after 2021
- have been admitted through state or national-level entrance exams
- have an annual family income of less than ₹3,00,000 (Note:- Gross income is the total income earned before any deductions are made for taxes or other expenses.)

- The financial eligibility of an applicant will be determined by considering the gross family income, the education and occupation of parents, as well as family members including elder brothers and sisters. Additionally, the family's living conditions and the total expenses incurred by the family for the applicant's education will also be taken into account.
- For employees, a salary/pay slip from their employer is mandatory. It must contain the basic salary and all allowances and deductions and must be certified by the employer and the facilitator. Income certificates will not be accepted in place of salary/pay slips.
- Pensioners must present a pension statement from a competent authority showing gross monthly pension including any other supplementary allowances. They should also provide documentation showing official status or designation, gross salary drawn at the time of retirement, and the name of the employing organization.
- In the case of a voluntary retirement scheme, the reasons for retirement and the lump-sum benefits received should be disclosed.
- For family members who are in business/self-employed, an income certificate issued by a competent authority and details about the nature and size of the business must be provided.
- For family members who are in agriculture (farmers, cultivators), an income certificate issued by a competent authority with details of the nature and size of the agricultural land must be provided.
