The Forum on Indian Traditional Medicine (FITM), in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH, invites applications from Indian scholars for the FITM - AYUSH Research Fellowships Scheme 2018-19. The scheme offers 2-yr Doctoral Fellowships and 1-yr Post-Doctoral Fellowships for research that explores economic, sociological, politico-economic, trade, management and digital/information technology related aspects of Indian Traditional Medicine (ITM) health systems.
FITM - AYUSH Research Fellowships Scheme 2018-19
DeadlineClosed Eligibility Research Fellowships are open to scholars with educational backgrounds in any of the AYUSH disciplines, although outstanding candidates from other disciplines may be considered.
Eligibility Criteria for Doctoral Fellowships:
- Applicant must be a full time PhD scholar in any UGC recognised Indian University/Institute
- Applicant must not be more than 28 years on the last date of application
Eligibility Criteria for Post-Doctoral Fellowships:
- Applicant must have obtained his/her PhD degree at the time of application for the Fellowship
- Applicant must not be more than 35 years on the last date of application
Note: The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes/OBC, physically-challenged, and female applicants.
Benefits Doctoral Fellowship: Up to INR 500,000 per year
Postdoctoral Fellowship: Up to INR 750,000 per yearNote: The amount sanctioned to a Fellow will be disbursed in quarterly instalments, subject to the satisfactory progress of the project and/or recommendation of the Fellowship Committee to that effect after its review

Selection Criteria
The selection of the Research Fellows will be made by the Fellowship Committee of the FITM based on their research proposals.

The selected research scholar shall sign an Undertaking with FITM to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in the Scheme.
