About The Program
DRDO-DRL Tezpur Junior Research Fellowship and Research Associateship 2025 is an opportunity offered by the Institute for Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). It offers young and dynamic individuals with the desired qualifications for the Junior Research Fellow and Research Associate post to work in ongoing and future research activities. The selected candidates will receive up to ₹67,000 per month and HRA.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- hold a degree certificate in one of the following qualifications for a Junior Research Fellowship:
- M.Pharm/M.S(Pharm)/M. Tech(Pharm)/ M.Tech in Pharmaceutics/Pharmacology & Toxicology/Pharmacology/Pharmaceutical Chemistry with GATE/GPAT/NET Qualification.
- M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Env. Engineering/ Life Sciences or related fields, with NET Qualification.
- MSc. in Chemistry/ Chemical Sciences or related fields, with NET Qualification.
- MSc. /M.Tech in Microbiology/ Biotechnology, with NET Qualification.
- hold a degree certificate in one of the following qualifications for a Research Associateship:
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences or related fields (Desirable: Specialization in microbial enzymes).
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences or related fields (Desirable: Specialization in Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics).
- Ph.D. in Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry/ Chemical Sciences (Desirable: Experience in synthesis of nanoparticles).
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Env. Engineering/ Life Sciences or related fields (Desirable:
- Specialization in Bioremediation/ Biodegradation).
- Ph.D. in Horticulture (Desirable: Post-harvest Technology).
- Ph.D. in Botany/ Forestry (Desirable: Plant Taxonomy).
- not exceed 28 years of age for JRF and 35 years of age for RA as of the date of interview
Note:- Age relaxation of 5 years and 3 years will be provided to SC/ST applicants and OBC applicants, respectively.
Benefits
Selected students will receive:-
- For JRF: A monthly stipend of ₹37,000 and House Rent Allowance (HRA) for an initial period of 2 years, extendable for up to 2 additional years as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), subject to performance.
- For RA: A monthly stipend of ₹67,000 and House Rent Allowance (HRA) for a period of 2 years. This is non-extendable.
Note:- No TA/DA will be provided to attend the interview.

- The fellowship does not confirm any right for a permanent position in DRDO.
- Applicants must provide original certificates/ testimonials, copies of published research papers & thesis also at the time of the interview. One photocopy set of all documents with the application must be carried during the interview.
- Applicants presently employed in Government Departments/ PSU's/ Autonomous Bodies should send their application through the proper channel and provide a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of interview.
- The decision of the Director, DRL, (DRDO) Tezpur will be final in case of any discrepancy.
