About The Program

The DRDO DRDE Gwalior Junior Research Fellowship 2026 is offered by the Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior, a premier institute under DRDO. This prestigious research fellowship is designed to attract young and meritorious Indian Nationals to pursue defence-related research. Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 along with other allowances.

EligibilityDeadline Date: 18-Jun-2026

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • be an Indian National
  • hold a First Class M.Sc. degree (or provisional certificate) in the relevant discipline, Chemistry or Biological Sciences
  • have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR-UGC (JRF/LS) or GATE (MHRD)
  • be 28 years of age or below as on the date of the interview

Note: Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates; 3 years for OBC candidates; other categories as per DRDO policy.

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Download the application form.
Step 4: Fill in the application form completely and accurately.
Step 5: Email the duly filled form (as a PDF) to ‘director.drde@gov.in’ and ‘admin-drde@gov.in’
Step 6: Appear for the Walk-in-Interview at DRDE, Jhansi Road, Gwalior — 474 002 on the scheduled date. Reporting time: 09:30 hrs at the Main Gate Reception
Step 7: Carry a hard copy of the filled application form with a recent passport-size photograph and one set of self-attested copies of all certificates/mark sheets/NET/GATE score card, etc.

Selection Criteria

Students will be selected through a walk-in-Interview conducted at DRDE, Gwalior. Selection is based on academic merit, interview performance, and verification of original certificates.
