About The Program
Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chatravriti Yojana for SC & OBC Students, Himachal Pradesh 2026-27 is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh to financially help the meritorious students who have passed Class 10. The students must have taken admission in Class 11 or in any professional/technical courses. The selected scholars will receive up to ₹12,000 per annum for two successive years.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be a domicile of Himachal Pradesh
- belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Other Backwards Class (OBC) category
- have passed Class 10 examination
- have taken admission in Class 11 or any professional/technical courses after Class 10 at a recognised institution within or outside the state
Benefits
The top 1,250 meritorious students of the SC category and top 1,000 of the OBC Category (as declared in the result of the matric examination conducted by the HP Board of School Education, Dharamshala) will receive ₹12,000 per annum and ₹10,000 per annum (respectively) for two successive years.

How can you apply?
Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option, as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Step 6: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Enter your/parents/guardian Adhaar/EID number and click ‘Get OTP’ for eKYC.
Step 8: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Verify’. Then click on ‘I Agree’.
Step 9: Enter all the mentioned details and click on ‘Finish’ to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 10: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 11: Fill in the required details and click ‘Login’ to proceed with the scholarship application.
Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

- The scholarship is tenable for only two years, the renewal is subject to satisfactory performance in the first year of study or the Class 11 internal examination.
