This scholarship is only open to those applying to the Department of Film and Television Studies. To be eligible, an applicant must hold a good BA Honours degree or equivalent.

Students interested in applying for the MA scholarship, need to provide a sample piece of written work of around 1500–3000 words (preferably, though not necessarily, on a film/TV-related subject) and a short (200-300 words) description of the kind of research topic(s) they would be interested in studying for the mandatory 15,000 word dissertation for MA students.

The MA for Research in Film and Television Studies structure:
Autumn Term: Graduate Skills classes plus either route A: Two optional modules (chosen from the core module and 2 optional modules) or route B: one optional module (chosen from the core module and 2 options) and one independent study module
Spring Term: Dissertation research plus either route A: One optional module (chosen from at least 3 modules) and one independent study module or route B: Two optional modules (chosen from at least 3 modules)
Summer Term: Dissertation and research presentations
Film and Television Studies at Warwick is not the same as Media Studies, Communications Studies or Journalism Studies. The institution offers modules which make more use of the kinds of methodologies employed in the study of English Literature, History and Art History than those practised in the sociological analysis of communication industries.
