About The Program
Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) Internship Scheme 2022-23 is an initiative by the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Government of India for students pursuing postgraduate or Ph.D. degree. The objective of the internship in DEA is to provide an opportunity to carry out brief research into a key and specific economic issue/problem faced by the country and offer the solution for the same. The selected candidates will receive variable awards.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Be pursuing postgraduation or Ph.D. degree in Economics/Law/Finance Management from Universities/Institutions within the top 25 ranks as per NIRF, by the Ministry of HRD or QS ranked International Institutes of repute
Benefits
The selected interns will receive awards in the following way-
- Postgraduate Interns: INR 10,000 per month per intern
- Ph.D. Interns: INR 20,000 per month per intern
- Interns will be provided with the necessary logistic support, i.e office space and computer with internet facility
- A certificate of internship

- The internship duration would be not less than 3 months. Preference will be given to candidates who offer to stay for at least 6 months.
- Since the time duration is very short, interns would be required to carry out a very intense study to ensure desirable outputs in a short time frame.
- The Department reserves all rights for offering internships to any candidate. The internship can be refused without assigning any reasons.
- The number of Internships will be limited to 15 paid interns. Ten additional unpaid interns may also be selected out of those ranking on top but could not be selected for the paid internship.
