About The Program

The Dempo Charities Trust - Scholarships 2024 is an opportunity provided by the Dempo Charity Trust* to postgraduate students of Goa. The scholarship aims to assist deserving students pursuing higher and professional education by disbursing scholarship funds. The selected candidates will receive tuition fee disbursement.

*Dempo Charity Trust is a major contributor to Goa's education sector. It has intentionally fostered an enabling and supportive academic culture that allows its educational institutions to think critically, generate ideas, and strategies, and effectively implement their curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs and policies. Two colleges under this trust have been awarded Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a domicile of Goa
  • be admitted to a postgraduate, research, or professional program in an institution of repute in Goa or India for the academic year 2024-25
  • not receive funding from any other sources

Note:- Students of Goa who have enrolled in a foreign institution are ineligible to apply.

Benefits

Selected candidates will receive financial assistance to cover their tuition fees, either in full or in part, as per the recommendations of the Scholarship committee.

Documents

Scanned copies of the following documents must be uploaded:-

  • Letter of admission
  • Tuition fee receipt
  • Marksheet of the previous year’s examination
  • Income certificate of the previous year, issued by a competent government authority
  • Income Tax Returns of the previous year

Note:- The income certificate and tax returns are mandatory only if the annual family income of the applicant is less than ₹5,00,000.

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-

Step 4: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

Selection Criteria

A committee appointed by the Dempo Trust will verify the applications and send recommendations to the Trust. Final selection will be based on their merit, past performance, family income, and national ranking of the institution in which the applicants are admitted.

The final list of candidates will be displayed on the institutional websites.

Terms and Conditions
  • 50% of the scholarship is allocated to female candidates.
  • The scholarship will only cover the tuition fees, as approved by the institution and recommended by the Charity Committee. It will be disbursed in either full or in parts.
  • The decisions regarding the scholarship of the Dempo Trust will be final.
  • The Dempo Trust is entitled to seek further information from the applicants if necessary.
  • Invalid or incomplete applications might result in the disqualification of the applicant.
