About The Program

Dalai Lama Fellows Program 2025 is an opportunity provided by *Dalai Lama Fellow to emerging changemakers aged between 20-36 years. The fellowship aims to promote personal growth to far wider networks in the ecosystems with which the fellows are engaged. The selected candidates will receive professional leadership development.

*Dalai Lama Fellows was established in 2010 with the support of the 14th Dalai Lama. It is an independent, non-sectarian, and inclusive organisation. Starting with a fellowship program, DLF has pioneered the integration of contemplative practices and personal growth with social innovation.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be aged between 20-36 years as of 1st April 2025
  • be fluent in written and spoken English
  • be currently engaged with or have well-articulated plans for a social change project and sustained engagement with the project throughout the fellowship year
  • have in-depth knowledge of the community and the issue that the project is seeking to address, preferably with at least one year of previous experience working with the community
  • have an interest in learning and engaging in contemplative practices throughout the year 
  • be committed to participating in all dimensions of the program, including online learning platforms, 1-on-1 coaching calls, group learning calls, etc.
  • attend the Contemplative Leadership Assembly in mid-July 2025

Note:-

  • Estimated participation in the fellowship requires about 12 hours per month, not including Fellows’ work on their projects.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have ongoing projects. However, each year fellows will be selected based on who has a concrete vision for a project and plans to launch during the fellowship year, given they have adequate expertise, resources, and community connections at the time of applying.

Note:- The reference letter will be provided by an individual after the applicant has provided their email in the reference section.

Selection Criteria

When evaluating candidates, the program seeks alignment between their development as social innovators and the program’s offerings. They are looking for applicants with genuine intentions to learn practices that will enhance their self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and resilience; foster compassionate connections despite differences; and improve their ability to navigate complex systems in social innovation.

The program seeks fellows engaged in projects addressing Health and Well-being, Education, Contemplation, Social Justice, Environmental Sustainability, or Cultural Understanding. Candidates must demonstrate deep familiarity with their community and provide a well-researched justification for the issues they aim to address in order to get shortlisted for this fellowship.
