About The Program
CSIR-HRDG Research Associateship 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Human Resource Development Group of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi to graduates and postgraduates in various fields of Science and Technology. In this associateship, the applicants will be trained under expert guidance from faculty members/scientists working in universities and have access to different institutes and laboratories of various government departments. A monthly stipend of up to INR 54,000 and other benefits will be provided to the selected applicants during the entire tenure of the associateship.

To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be a maximum of 35 years of age or below as on the last date of application
- have a PhD degree in Science and Engineering subjects OR
- have an MD/MS/MDS degree in Medical Science subjects OR
- have an ME/MTech/MPharma/MVSc with three years of R&D experience as on the last date of application
- have submitted PhD (Science/Engineering) thesis
- have at least one research publication in a standard refereed journal
Note -
- Those who have already availed equivalent grants of any kind for three years are not eligible to apply for RA.
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/Physically handicapped and women candidates and 3 years in case of OBC (non-creamy layer) applicants.
Benefits
The monthly stipend of an RA will be recommended by the selection committee. An applicant will receive one of the following monthly stipends for the entire tenure -
- INR 47,000
- INR 49,000
- INR 54,000
The selected candidates will also receive a House Rent Allowance (HRA) and a contingency grant of INR 20,000 per annum.
Note - The SC/ST candidates called for the interview will be paid single second-class rail/bus fare to and fro on the production of documentary proof.

Note -
- All the above-mentioned documents must be converted into PDF format and the file size should be less than 1 MB.
- The photo should be in JPEG/JPG format with light background and dimensions 130x160 to 260x320. The file size should be less than 150 KB.
- The signature should be in the same format with dimensions 90x25 to 225x100.

- Candidates need to apply online as no other mode of application will be accepted.
- The award is for a fixed tenure and does not imply any assurance or guarantee for subsequent employment by CSIR to the beneficiary.
- A candidate can apply in only one subject code.
- Applicants who have already applied thrice and haven’t received a call or were not selected should not apply again.
- Misrepresentation or hiding of facts shall lead to disqualification.
- The research supervisor should not be the blood relative.
- Merely fulfilling the essential qualifications will not entitle a candidate for being called for an interview.
- CSIR reserves the right to call or not to call a candidate for an interview.
- Every effort is made by CSIR to have committees with wide-ranging expertise., Hhowever, complaints of rejection on this account will not be entertained by CSIR.
- The decision of CSIR on all matters including calling for interview, selection, recommendation and placement etc. shall be final. No correspondence in the matter will be entertained.
- The research supervisor should not be the blood relative.
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. No interim enquiries will be attended to.
- As it is a full-time commitment, associates are not allowed to take up any other remunerative jobs/assignments during their tenure.
- Those who have availed or are holding equivalent Associateships under various schemes of All-India grant-giving agencies such as DST, DBT, ICMR, UGC, ICAR etc. may apply subject to the condition that the total tenure of RA including that of CSIR shall not exceed three years.
