About The Program

Copenhagen Business School (CBS) is calling applications from PhD applicants in the field of accounting for PhD Scholarships. Focusing on three key areas, namely financial accounting, management accounting and auditing, the scholarships will allow the students to conduct research under the supervision of CBS professors, supported by research training courses. 

Being an international programme, the students are expected to participate in international research conferences and spend time abroad as a visiting PhD student. The total duration of the PhD programme is 3 years.

An applicant must -

  • Have a basic training at the Master's level
  • Have an educational background in the Social Sciences
  • Have successfully completed the Master's degree
  • Be proficient in the English language
  • Be enrolled at the Doctoral School of Business and Management 
Benefits
  • The scholarships offered under this programme are fully-salaried positions, as per the national Danish collective agreement.
  • It includes -
    • Tuition fees
    • Office space
    • Travel grant
    • A monthly salary of approx. DKK 23.770 (approx. EUR 3,160) to DKK 28.964 (approx. EUR 3,860) depending on seniority
    • A pension contribution totalling 17.1% of 85 per cent of the base salary

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship online through following steps -

Step 3: Upload all supporting documents. 

Step 4: 'Save' the application. 

Step 5: Click on 'Send application' to finally submit the application. 

Selection Criteria
  • Initially, the recruitment committee will shortlist at least two to 5 applicants to be assessed by the Assessment Committee. 
  • The Assessment Committee will finally select the scholars after strict assessment. 
  • The priority will be given to candidates with high grades from their universities. 
Terms and Conditions
  • The research proposal that is required to be submitted with the scholarship application should contain a presentation of an original research question, a description of the initial theoretical framework and methodology, a work plan and a presentation of the suggested empirical material. 
  • The salary level and appointment will be determined by the Ministry of Finance's collective agreement with the Central Academic Organisation. 
  • Candidates who wish to join CBS should demonstrate enthusiasm for working in an organisation like it. 
  • This is a 3-year PhD programme which includes teaching obligations equivalent of 1/2 years' work (840 work hours).
