About The Program
CoEM Agar Art Competition 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Centre of Excellence in Microbiome (CoEM) in association with the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) to microbiology students, researchers, and enthusiasts. This art competition aims to raise public awareness of the microbial world and ignite the artistic talents of students and researchers passionate about microbiology. The winners will be awarded with cash prizes and certificates.

- be a microbiology student, researcher, and enthusiast

The first and second-prize winners will receive cash prizes and certificates. In addition, all eligible participants will receive an e-certificate of participation.

- A document confirming adherence to lab biosafety rules, signed by the concerned faculty member
How can you apply?
Eligible participants can apply for the competition by following the below steps:-
Step 1: Click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note:- If already registered, log in using the registered email ID)
Step 3: Read the details carefully, navigate to the given application link at the bottom of the page and click on it.
Step 4: Fill in the required details and upload the required documents.
Step 5: Click on the 'Submit' tab.

- Coloured agar, differential or selective media, and pigmented microbes are allowed for use.
- Participants must upload their agar art images along with a title and detailed description through the Google Form link.
- Students must upload a signed declaration of originality and a document confirming adherence to lab biosafety rules, signed by their concerned faculty member.
- All artwork must be original and not copied from any existing source.
- The participants are recommended to submit their artwork based on one of the following themes:
- Microbial interactions in beneficial ways within biotic and abiotic environments.
- The One-Health approach or any relevant aspects related to it.
- Copyright ownership of all agar art entries belongs exclusively to the Centre of Excellence in Microbiome (organising institute).
- This copyright transfer grants the Centre the exclusive right and license to reproduce, publish, distribute, and archive the agar art images in all forms and media.
