About The Program

Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar invites applications for Civil Engineering Research Fellowships, IIT Gandhinagar 2019 from students having a B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech./PhD or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering for JRF (Junior Research Fellow), SRF (Senior Research Fellow) and RA (Research Associate) position on the project titled - “Dynamic Properties of Confined Masonry Buildings through Ambient and Forced Vibration Testing”. The fellows receive fellowship worth up to INR 36,000 per month and HRA (as applicable). The project is for 6 months time period (extendable up to 3 years based on research performance).

There are three research positions: Research Associate (RA), Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). 

For RA: 

An applicant must - 

  • Have a PhD in Civil Engineering or M.Tech. in Civil Engineering with 3 years of research, design, teaching & development experience
  • Have a strong background in Structural Engineering, Instrumentation (with LabVIEW Program) and Matlab Programming
  • Be up to 35 years of age
  • Be highly motivated with a strong mathematical background
  • Have good communication and writing skills

For SRF:

An applicant must - 

  • Have M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, OR 
  • Have a B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering with two years of experience in research/teaching/design after the completion of the degree
  • Be up to 32 years of age
  • Have a background in Structural Engineering, Instrumentation (with LabVIEW Program) and Matlab Programming

For JRF:

An applicant must - 

  • Have a B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks
  • Have passed the GATE test
  • Be up to 28 years of age
  • Have a background in Structural Engineering, Instrumentation (with LabVIEW Program) and Matlab Programming
Benefits

As per the CSIR norms, the applicant will receive the following benefits -

  • For RA - Monthly pay of INR 36000 + HRA
  • For SRF - Monthly pay of INR 14000 + HRA
  • For JRF - Monthly pay of INR 12000 + HRA
