About the Program
The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in partnership with CITI bank invites applications for CITI - NCPA Scholarship for Young Musicians 2020-21 from young musicians between 18 and 35 years of age. The scholarship is meant to provide advanced training in Hindustani music (vocal - khayal/dhrupad, melody instruments - sitar, sarod, violin, harmonium, flute, etc.). The selected scholars will receive INR 10,000 per month for one year.

To be eligible, the applicants must:
- Be an Indian citizen
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age as on 1st March 2020 (for Khayal/Melody instruments), OR
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age as on 1st March 2020 (for Dhrupad)
The value of the scholarship is INR 10,000 per month for one year (April 2020 to March 2021).
The applicants are required to attach a bio-data containing all the details in the listing format.

Send in an envelope marked ‘Citi – NCPA Scholarship for Young Musicians 2020-21 (Hindustani Music)’ to the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 on or before December 31, 2019.
Note: The application must contain details like the individual’s name, date of birth, address, contact number/alternate contact number, professional qualification, email ID, music teachers/gurus, number of years of total training and details of achievements/prizes/scholarships and performances.
Last date of application: 31 December 2020
The shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or telephone. They will be required to appear for an audition at the NCPA, Mumbai, in February 2020. The decision of the NCPA Selection Committee will be final.
Terms and Conditions
- Candidates who are beneficiaries of other scholarship/grant in the field of music during April 2020-21 are not eligible.
- Full-time or part-time working professionals at any company are not eligible.
- Professional musicians including those with 'A' grade from All India Radio are not eligible.
