About The Program

Chief Minister Fellowship (CMF) Program, 2023 is an initiative by the Government of Maharashtra, India. Launched by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, CMF is a drive to rope in young graduates in the administration. The fellowship aims to help government gain from the youthful energy, passion for technology and fresh perspectives of the youth while giving them an opportunity to earn valuable experience of working within the government. It is an 12-month program that offers the fellows a monthly remuneration of INR 75,000.

To be eligible for this fellowship, an applicant must-

  • be a youth in the age group 21 to 26 years as on 2nd March 2023 (having the date of birth between 03/03/1997 and 03/03/2002, inclusive of both days)
  • be a graduate with first class from any discipline (postgraduate or professional diploma holders will have an added advantage)
  • have minimum work experience of 1 year (full-time internship as part of a professional course will be considered as experience)
  • have basic proficiency in Marathi language
  • be able to work on computer and internet
  • have sufficient knowledge of English and Hindi
  • be a responsible, enthusiastic and enterprising youth
Benefits

The selected fellows will receive the following benefits-

  • Fellowship position equivalent to that of Grade A officer in the government service
  • A monthly stipend of INR 75,000 (INR 70,000 stipend and INR 5,000 for travel and related expenses)
  • Eight days of leave during the period of fellowship
  • Accidental insurance cover during the period of fellowship
  • Certificate by the Government who successfully complete the 12-month feildwork and special academic course implemented by IIT, Mumbai or IIM, Nagpur.

Note: Fellows will not be provided any accommodation.

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the position using the steps listed below -
Step 1: Click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using the registered email Id.)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Apply Now' button
Step 4: Sign in or create a new account after checking the primary eligibility details.
Step 5: Receive the login id and password on the registered email and phone.
Step 6: Log in and start filling the application form.
Step 7: Provide personal information, educational qualification and work experience.
Step 8: Re-check the details and complete the online application process.
Step 9: Pay an application fee of INR 500.
Step 10: On completion of the process, the candidate will receive an email with detailed information and instructions about the further selection process.

Selection Criteria

The fellows will be selected through a two-stage process:

  • Stage I

Step 1: Online test
Step 2: Shortlisting of candidates

  • Stage II

Step 1: Submission of essays by shortlisted candidates
Step 2: Personal interview of shortlisted candidates
Step 3: Result declaration of selected students

Terms and Conditions
  • CMF is a full-time program. Thus, the fellows are not expected to take up any other assignment or employment or study during the period of this fellowship.
  • There is no provision of extending the 12-month tenure of this fellowship.
  • CMF does not assure a job after the completion of the 12 months.
  • The document verification will be done at the time of the interview.
  • The fellows won’t be allowed to take part in any political movement during the tenure of the fellowship.
  • Fellows will be provided I-Card and Email ID for official purpose during the period of this fellowship.
  • The fellow will reside in the city of his/her placement.
  • After receiving the offer letter, fellows must join the office within 60 days to avoid cancellation of selection.
