Centrally Sponsored Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students, Himachal Pradesh 2022 is an initiative for Scheduled Tribe (ST) community students studying in Class 9 and 10. The scholarship is being offered by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The selected students will receive a maintenance allowance of up to 1,000 per month and other benefits.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must -

    • be a citizen of India
    • be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh
    • belong to Scheduled Tribe (ST) category 
    • be a student of Class 9 and 10 of a recognised institution
    • have a family income of not more than INR 2 lakh per annum
    Benefits

    The selected students will receive the following benefits - 

    Items Day Scholars Hostellers
    Scholarship per annum for 10 months 150 350
    Books and Ad hoc grant (per annum) 750 1,000

     

    The students with disabilities studying in private un-aided schools will receive additional allowances as below - 

    • Monthly Reader allowance for blind students: INR 160
    • Monthly transport allowance for students with disabilities: INR 160
    • Monthly escort allowance for severely disabled day Scholars/Students with low extremity disability: INR 160
    • Monthly helper allowance admissible to any employee of the hostel willing to extend help to a severely orthopedically handicapped student residing in the hostel: INR 160
    • Monthly coaching allowance to mentally retarded and mentally ill students: INR 240
    Documents
    • One passport-size photo
    • Original Scheduled Tribe certificate signed by an authorised revenue officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar
    • Income declaration of self-employed parents/guardians
    • If the student received a scholarship under the same scheme in the previous year, a receipt in acknowledgement of the scholarship is to be submitted
    How can you apply?

    Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -

    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below. 
    Step 2: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner'and click on 'New Registration'.
    Step 3: Now click on 'Click here for other Scholarship Schemes hosted on NSP for AY 2022-23'.
    Step 4: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking, and 'Continue'
    Step 5: Select the state of domicile, scholarship category (Pre Matric), scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, and write the applicant's name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
    Step 6: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number)
    Step 7: Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail and click on the 'Register' button.
    Step 8: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
    Step 9: Now, log in using OTP and fill out the application form.
    Step 10: After successful submission of the application form, an application ID and password will be generated which can be used for future references.

    Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria

The candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will receive the scholarship. 

Terms and Conditions
  • The applicant should not be in receipt of any other centrally-funded pre-matric scholarship.
  • The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year (i.e 10 months).
  • The scholarship will not be awarded for training courses like Aircraft Engineer's Courses and Private Pilot Licence courses at Training - Ship Dufferin (Now Rajendra) courses at the Military College, Dehradun and courses at pre-examination training centres at all India and State levels.
  • The students who have already received coaching at any pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Government are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students who have completed their education in one professional line and want to continue studying for other professions are not eligible.
  • Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine are eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
  • Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible. The term correspondence includes distance and continuing education.
  • The candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong. 
  • The students domiciled in one State/UT but holding an ST certificate of another State/UT can avail the scholarship in the State/UT from which the ST certificate was issued.
