Answer: The National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) is a Government of India scheme that provides financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections, enabling them to continue their education beyond Class 8.
Question: Who conducts the NMMS examination in West Bengal?
Answer: The Directorate of School Education, Government of West Bengal, conducts the NMMS examination at the state level.
Question: Who can apply for NMMS West Bengal 2025?
Answer: Students currently studying in Class 8 in government or government-aided schools in West Bengal, who passed Class 7 with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) and whose annual family income does not exceed ₹3,50,000, are eligible to apply.
Question: Are students from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, or private schools eligible?
Answer: No. Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, or private institutions are not eligible for this scholarship.
