About The Program

Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship (JBNSTS), West Bengal 2018 invites applications from girl students who have passed class 12 in the year 2018 and are currently enrolled in the graduation course. The objective of this scholarship is to encourage and conserve the scientific talent of students studying Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
  • The applicant must be a girl.
  • Applicant having passed Class 12 or equivalent exam (in the current year) and pursuing an undergraduate program like B.Sc. (Hons.)/Engineering/Medicine (first year). 
  • The applicant's institution should be registered in West Bengal.
Benefits

The scholarship provides the following benefits to the candidates:

  • A sum INR 3000 p.m will be provided to undergraduates till their M.B.B.S/B.Tech/B.E program.
  • Apart from this, the candidates will be automatically entitled to DST-INSPIRE scholarship of worth 80,000 p.a. till M.Sc.
  • The scholars will be provided an Annual Book Grant of INR 2000 p.a.
  • The scholars will be entitled to participate in the seminars and colloquia, Travel and Enrichment program, Project work and Academic and Career counseling. 
Documents

For offline application form, the following documents are required:

  • Three recent photos of passport size to be pasted in the specific area of the application form
  • Photocopy of the mark sheet of class 12 or equivalent
  • A Bank Draft of INR 200 payable at Kolkata in favor of “Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search”
  • A self-addressed envelope having a postal stamp of INR 10 (envelope size 20 cm x 12 cm) for sending Admit Card
  • Admission proof of 1st-year

Step 4: Pay the online application fee.
Step 5: Submit the form.

Note: Application fee is INR 200 plus bank and gateway charges.

Selection Criteria

The test is divided into three major categories:
1st Phase: Written Test
2nd Phase: Interview.
3rd Phase: Scientific Creativity.
Note: Results will be declared after the completion of each phase. The candidates clearing the subsequent rounds will be called for the next round.

Terms and Conditions

Candidates can use the following modes for making online payment of application fee:

  • Net banking/credit card/debit card/wallet.
  • The online application fee paid will not be refunded, however, if any other excess amount is deducted, the applicant may send his/her complaint on Director, Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search at jbnsts@jbnsts.org.
  • The applicants can make online payment through both online and offline mode. For offline mode, a bank draft of INR 200 will be required in favour of the organization's name.
