About The Program

The Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University invites applications for Berkman Klein Fellowship Program 2020-21 from the people working on a broad range of opportunities and challenges related to Internet and society. This fellowship program provides an opportunity for some of the world’s most innovative thinkers and change makers to come together to hone and share ideas, find camaraderie, and spawn new initiatives. Selected candidates will get financial support and opportunity to work at the Berkman Klein Center.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be working on a broad range of opportunities and challenges related to Internet and society
  • Be a student / post doctoral scholar / professor / practitioner / innovator / engineer / artist etc.
  • Be potential fellows in these nascent specialities and learning more about the impact of their work
Benefits

Selected scholars will get opportunity to work at The Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and stipend up to USD 36,000.

  • A personal statement
  • A copy of a recent publication or an example of relevant work
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A number of research-based selections/questions to respond to directly in the Application Tracker

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the details and documents submitted by the candidates.

Terms and Conditions
  • During this fellowships, fellows are expected to live in Cambridge or elsewhere in the Greater-Boston area.
  • Berkman Klein fellowships awarded through the open call for applications are rarely stipended, and most fellows receive no direct funding through the Berkman Klein Center as part of their fellowship appointment.
  • All attachments must be submitted through the Application Tracker as PDFs.
  • Applicants requesting financial support will submit responses directly into the Application Tracker.
