About The Program
The BCWD Devaraj Urs Foreign Scholarship, Karnataka 2026 is offered by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka, to students of backward classes pursuing higher studies abroad. Selected candidates will receive up to ₹10 lakh per annum.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Karnataka
- belong to the OBC list notified by the central/state
- not exceed the age of 27 years (Ph.D.) and 25 years (Master)
- have secured a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the previous degree
- be pursuing a Master’s or a Ph.D. degree in a foreign institution
- have an annual family income not exceeding ₹8,00,000
Note:-
- Employees of central or state government-aided institutions and publicly owned institutions are ineligible.
- Only one student per family is eligible.
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a maximum annual scholarship of ₹10 lakh or the actual cost, whichever is lesser. The duration is 2 years for a Master's and 3 years for a Ph.D. degree.
