Selected candidates will receive up to €10,000 in funding for a maximum duration of 6 months.
The fund can be used for travel costs, visa costs, living costs, childcare, exceptional costs, e.g., machine time at specialist institutes, specialist training for field studies; costs that are essential to ensure the project can be undertaken. However, it cannot be used for lab consumables or equipment; laptops, tablets or similar; conferences, workshops or similar; costs for writing papers, books, reviews or similar; guest lectures, visiting professorships or similar; course fees, e.g., fees for studies in a foreign country.

The Bayer Foundation will conduct an initial review of applications for completeness. An independent jury of scientists will evaluate and rank them based on fundamental quality, applicant motivation, fellowship value, and preference for collaborative or interdisciplinary proposals.
