About The Program

The Azim Premji University invites applications for the Azim Premji University Undergraduate Scholarship 2019 from undergraduate degree applicants. The objective of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the applicants to help them pursue higher education. The university offers need-based scholarships that cover tuition fee, accommodation and food charges.

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

The following applicants are eligible to apply for the scholarship program: 

  • Should have passed or given the 12th board exams
  • Should not be older than 19 years of age as on 1 July 2019
  • Should have scored at least 50% marks in class 12th board exams
  • Annual family income must not exceed INR 12 Lakh

Note: Students appearing for their final examination by June 2019 are also eligible.

Benefits

The selected scholars will receive the following benefits: 

  • The scholarships are provided to the applicants based on their financial status and disbursed in the following forms: 
    • Full tuition fee waiver, Accommodation and Food charges in exceptional circumstances.
    • Full or Partial waiver of Tuition fee and Accommodation charge.
    • A partial waiver of tuition fee.
    • 100% waiver on tuition fee waiver for the 4th year.
Documents
  • Documents required for Income Tax Payers (Salaried or Self Employed): 
    • Three years' IT returns
    • Bank passbook showing transactions from April 2016 till date
    • Receipt of School Fees paid for the past two years
  • Documents required for Non-Income Tax Payers :
    • Income certificate issued by the appropriate Government authority (Issued not earlier than October 2018)
    • Bank pass book showing transactions from April 2018 till date
    • Receipt of School Fees paid for the past two years

  • Personal Interview: 25th, 26th and 27th of May 2019

Terms and Conditions
  • The scholarship is subject to revision on an annual basis.
  • The socio-economic factors and circumstances of the applicants will also be considered in scholarship decisions. 
  • Students requesting financial assistance should provide all the information requested in the Financial Assistance form.
  • The University reserves the right to award or reject financial assistance and its decision will be final and binding.
  • The University will facilitate Education loans, through tie-ups with banks.
  • Applicants receiving the scholarship have the option of availing loans for the balance amount not covered by scholarships.
  • Other optional documentation that may be required are as follows: 
    • BPL Card (If applicable)
    • If having an account under Jan-Dhan Yojana, please provide the passbook
    • Latest salary slip of salaried members of the family (parents/guardian)
    • Form 16 issued by an employer of salaried members of the family (parents/guardian)
    • Form 16A issued by any entity providing details of income from profession
    • Certificate from school with respect to school fee
    • Proof of scholarship awarded for prior study (Certificate, letter, etc.)
