To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be an undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate and post-doctorate students.
- Be enrolled in any of the collaborating institutes (both Indian and European) under SPARC (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration) projects.
Benefits
The selected student will go on the exchange program for the duration of one semester i.e. four months. A total of EUR 7,000 will be awarded for meeting the expenses of the exchange program that include -
- Travel to and from European institute
- Living expenses @EUR 1,500 per month for 4 months

How can you apply?
The applications are to be made by the institutions only. The institutes can follow the steps below:
Step 1: Click here to land on the list of institutes and find respective institute ID.
Step 2: Enter the password and minimum information of the contact person in the home institute.
Step 3: Fill the application form and upload relevant documents (Passport Copies, Transcripts and Motivation Letter)
Step 4: Submit the completed application form.
Note: The home institute will get an email of confirmation in three days.

Selection Criteria
The Indian Selection Committee, as decided by the Apex Committee of SPARC will make the final selection. The preference will be given to students on the following basis -
- Postgraduate and doctoral students will get preference.
- Undergraduate and post-doctoral students will be selected in case of exceptional merit.
- Preference will also be given to subject groups like Social Sciences, Sciences and Technology.
- Students from Indian institutes which are part of joint research projects under SPARC with European institutes will get the first priority.
Additionally, the selection is made on the basis of the applicant's -
- Motivation letter
- Courses to take in Host and Home institutes
- ECTS and GPA

Terms and Conditions
- Applications will be sent by institutes only.
- Only such institutes which are part of the Joint Research Projects under Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) are eligible to participate.
- The duration of the program should be at least one semester
- If the duration of the semester is more than 4 months, the scholarship will be given only for four months.
- If the duration of a semester is less than 4 months, then the fellowship will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis
- In case of the Transfer of Credits, the student should have more than 10 credits (20 ECTS) credits for transfer (language and sports courses are NOT to be counted)
- During the fall semester of 2019, Indian applicant must be staying in India (Leave of absence is allowed).
- If GPA/ECTS written on the application are different from those of the transcript, the application will be disqualified.
- The exchange of students for DUO India 2020 will take place for the Spring semester (between Jan/Feb and May/June 2020) and Fall semester (between Aug/Sep and Nov/Dec 2020).
