About The Program

The University of Amsterdam invites applications for the Amsterdam Excellence Scholarship 2018 in the faculty of Child Development and Education. This scholarship is for the talented graduate students from across the world who wish to pursue masters at the University of Amsterdam. The worth of this scholarship is  EUR 25,000, that includes tuition and living expenses for one academic year and the objective is to attract the outstanding students to its international classroom.

In order to be eligible, an applicant must-

  • Not belong to EU or EEA or Suisse countries.
  • Be an academically talented graduate who should be among the top ten percent graduate of his/her class, or,
  • Have an overall GPA equivalent to-
    • 1st class honours/ upper division (British system)
    • 3.5 (American system, 4-point scale)
    • 8+ (Dutch EC-system, 10-point scale)
  • Have been applied for the first time to one of the MSc programmes at the University of Amsterdam.
  • Have done their previous academic programme no longer than 3 years ago.
  • Be able to adhere the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa (if applicable).
  • Have to meet the English language requirement.
How can you apply?

Application Instructions-

  • The applicant will have to first apply for the Research Master's programme then only he/she can apply for the Amsterdam Excellence Scholarship.

For this, follow the steps given below-
Step 1- Click here to register with Studielink first.
Step 2- For the New user, click Apply for username and password and, for Existing user, click Log in via Studielink.
Note- An email containing EVA student number (UvA-net ID) will be received on the registered email id. It will also contain the steps to continue the application process.
Step 3- Follow the steps and complete the application submission.

For applying for scholarship, follow the steps given below-
Step 1- Go to this page.
Step 2- Download the pdf of the application form.
Step 3- Fill in the details. 
Step 4- Send the application form with other required documents to rmcde@uva.nl.

Documents required along with the application-

  • Proof of belonging to the top 10% of your class
  • Motivation letter (max. 500 words)
  • Certified grade transcript of the Bachelor’s programme; including GPA. 
  • Curriculum Vitae including extra-curricular activities 
  • Proof of English Proficiency Sheet
  • One or two letter of recommendation(s)
