About The Program

Alaknanda Scholarship Programme 2017-18 is one of the flagship projects of Parichay Foundation that aims to support the education of girl students belonging to underprivileged families in Odisha. The programme would help drop out girl students clear matriculation under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). A total of 60 girl students will be selected from Kalyanpur panchayat located on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a girl student belonging to an underprivileged family
  • Have passed class 9
  • Be a domicile of Odisha
Benefits
  • A total of 60 girls will be selected for the scholarship programme who will receive support for admission in matriculation under NIOS
  • The admission and examination fee will be paid by the Parichay Foundation
  • The girls will be adopted for an entire year and course material will be provided to them
  • Extracurricular activities will also be organised for the students
  • Yoga, dance classes and excursions will be organised too
Selection Criteria

The foundation will select girl students based on the financial position of parents, previous mark sheets of girl students and the inclination of girl students to pursue education.
