Alagappa University invites PhD degree holders for walk-in interviews for two fellowships namely, Senior Post Doctoral Fellowship (SPDF) and RUSA-PDF (Post Doctoral Fellowship). Selected applicants will get a fellowship of INR 1,00,000 per month and INR 75,000 per month respectively for each fellowship.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility Candidates adhering to the following criterion can apply for the Senior Post Doctoral Fellowship:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must hold a PhD degree.
- The applicant must have a minimum of two-year experience from a reputed foreign university.
- The applicant must not be more than 40 years of age.The age limit for women and reserved category candidates is 45 years. (Age limit can be relaxed further for highly meritorious candidates).
Candidates adhering to the following criterion can apply for the RUSA Post Doctoral Fellowship:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must hold a PhD degree.
- The applicant must not be more than 40 years of age. The age limit of women and reserved category candidates is 45 years. (Age limit can be relaxed further for highly meritorious candidates)
Benefits - Candidates selected as Senior PDF will get a consolidated fellowship on INR 1,00,000 per month and contingency up to INR 1,50,000 per annum.
- Candidates selected as RUSA-PDF will get a consolidated fellowship of INR 75,000 per month and contingency up to INR 1,00,000 per annum.
Documents Applicants are advised to carry the following documents at the time of interview:
- Proof of completion of PhD
- List of Publications
- Research Proposal
- Two Referees (Name with Address/Mobile/email)
- Age Proof
How can you apply? Interested candidates who are eligible and fulfil the criterion can follow the steps to apply:

Step3: Candidates have to confirm the date of their interview according to their faculty.
Step4: Candidates have to reach the venue of the interview at the mentioned date and time.Venue: Conference Hall in Central Library, Adjacent to Administrative Building, Alagappa University, Karaikudi.
Note: Interview for candidates living abroad applying for SPDF/PDF will be conducted through SKYPE / Video Conferencing based on the request by the candidate. The candidates should send their filled-in application form and powerpoint presentation to rusa.alucoordinator@alagappauniversity.ac.in five days before the date interview to arrange the Skype interview smoothly.

Selection Criteria
The selection and award of SPDF/PDF will be through a ten minutes presentation followed by an Interview to be held at Alagappa University.

Terms and Conditions
- The Senior PDF and PDF have to contribute to the development of Research Theme of the Department with publications in Scopus indexed journals/ Impact Factor Journals, Patents, etc.
- The Fellowship is a full-time engagement for research work and cannot be combined with any other full time or part-time work.
- No TA/DA is permissible for attending the interview.
- Age limit can be relaxed for highly meritorious candidates.
