About The Program

AICTE Yashasvi (Young Achievers' Scholarship & Holistic Academic Skills Venture Initiative) Scheme 2024 is an opportunity offered by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to students admitted to the first year of a degree or diploma program in a core engineering branch at an AICTE-approved institution. This scheme aims to motivate students to pursue technical education in core engineering fields in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical courses at AICTE-approved institutions.

Selected candidates will receive an annual scholarship of ₹18,000 for every year of study.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • be admitted to the first year of a degree/diploma level course in any of the AICTE-approved institutions of the respective year
  • fulfil the academic criteria for the scholarship
Benefits

A total of 5,000 scholarships are awarded annually, i.e. 2,500 for degrees and 2,500 for diplomas, will be given.

Degree students are eligible to receive ₹18,000 per year for a maximum of four years, while diploma students can receive ₹12,000 per year for a maximum of three years.

How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for the scheme:
Step 1:
Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note:- If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.) 
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Get your OTP' section and click on the 'Apply now' option given.
Step 4: Now, navigate to the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 5: Read the guidelines carefully, tick the check box, click on the 'Next' button and register using a valid mobile number.
Step 6: Now, complete the eKYC process with an Aadhaar card or Enrollment ID (EID) for Aadhaar (in case students' doesn't have an Aadhaar card).
Step 7: After successful registration, login using the valid credentials.
Step 8: Select the respective scholarship scheme, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit.

Important Dates

Applications will have to remain open throughout for the first-year students till the announcement of the closure of accepting applications.

Selection Criteria
  • Degree students: Selection is based solely on the merit of the qualifying examination (Class 12 marks) for admission to a core engineering branch at any AICTE-approved institution.
  • Diploma students: Selection is based solely on the merit of the qualifying examination (Class 10 marks) for admission to a core engineering diploma program at any AICTE-approved institution.

Selected candidates will receive their scholarship amount annually through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

Terms and Conditions
  • Scholarships will be awarded following the reservation policies of the respective state governments.
  • If a student transfers from a core engineering program (CCEEM) to another branch, they will be required to return the entire scholarship amount to AICTE.
  • Students must submit their passing certificates/marksheets along with a recommendation letter from the Head of Institution to renew the scholarship for subsequent years.
    • In case of applicants with similar qualifying examination percentiles, the following criteria will be used to break ties:
      • Degree Level Students:
        • The candidates with a higher percentage of marks in their Class 12 exam will be ranked higher.
        • If the percentage of marks in the Class 12 exam is still tied, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
      • Diploma Level Students:
        • The candidate with a higher percentage of marks in their Class 10 exam will be ranked higher.
        • If the percentage of marks in the Class 10 exam is still tied, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
  • Students who fail to progress to the next year of their program will forfeit the scholarship.
  • The gap between passing the qualifying exam and admission to the core engineering program should not exceed two years.
  • Applications are accepted only once a year through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) of the Government of India.
  • Students who qualify under a reserved category and are also ranked on the general merit list will be considered under the general category for scholarship award.
  • Incomplete applications will be rejected. Only verified online applications submitted through the NSP will be considered.
  • Students who drop out of their program in a subsequent year will forfeit the scholarship for remaining years.
  • The scholarship is intended for core engineering branches (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical). If a student transfers to a different program after the first year, they will no longer be eligible for the scholarship and must return the entire scholarship amount received to date. The refund should be made via Demand Draft payable to "Member Secretary, AICTE" at New Delhi.
  • Students receiving financial assistance in the form of scholarships, emoluments, salaries, or stipends from other sources during their studies are not eligible for the AICTE YASHASVI scholarship. If a student receives such assistance after being awarded the YASHASVI scholarship, the scholarship will be discontinued, and the entire amount must be refunded to AICTE. The refund should be a Demand Draft (D/D) drawn in favour of "Member Secretary, AICTE" payable at New Delhi.
  • The AICTE YASHASVI scheme will be implemented and monitored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
  • Students receiving financial assistance in the form of scholarships, stipends, salaries, or other emoluments from other sources during their studies are ineligible for this scholarship. If a student receives such assistance after receiving the AICTE YASHASVI scholarship, the AICTE scholarship will be discontinued, and the entire amount awarded must be refunded to AICTE. The refund should be made via a Demand Draft (D/D) drawn in favor of "Member Secretary, AICTE" payable at New Delhi.
  • If both CGPA and total marks are mentioned in the marksheet, the total marks will be used for scholarship eligibility.
  • A provisional list of shortlisted candidates will be uploaded on the AICTE website. In case, candidate has any query about merit list of scholarship, they may raise their grievances within a month.
  • No query regarding merit list will be entertained after one month duration from the date of publishing of merit list on AICTE website.
  • Inquiries regarding scholarship non-payment due to invalid or incorrect account details will only be accepted for up to six months from the date the merit list is published on the AICTE website.
