Academic Excellence Scholarship, VU Amsterdam 2019

The following applicants are eligible to apply for the scholarship: 

• Must be applying for a Bachelor's degree 
• Should have a grade point of at least 85%
• Should have demonstrated academic excellence
• Must have mastered at least B2 level of the English language

The selected scholar will receive a scholarship grant of up to EUR 2,500 which is subtracted from the tuition fee of the applicant. 

The following documents are required to be attached along with the application: 

• Application mentioning the necessary details mentioned above
• Academic transcripts clearly stating the GPA of the applicant
• Motivational essay between 350-500 words indicating the following: 
  • Why the participation in the Semester in Amsterdam Program and the courses that the applicant has chosen is relevant to his/her personal, professional, and academic goals?
  • How will the applicant use this knowledge to make a positive impact on the future for himself/herself and his/her community?
  • Any other relevant information about the applicant. 
• Professional Letter of Reference which answers the following question: 
  • The employers/teachers experience working with the applicant either in an academic, professional, or volunteer setting.
  • His/her motivation for recommending the applicant for the scholarship.
  • Complete contact information.

Follow the steps to apply: 

Step 1: Write a motivational essay between 350-500 words specifying information and aspirations. 
Step 2: Generate an application with the necessary details including the following: 

• Full name of the applicant 
• The nationality of the applicant 
• Name of the home university 
• Main focus and area of study

Step 3: Attach the necessary documents along with the application.
Step 4: Submit the application along with the attached documents by sending a mail to semesterinamsterdam@vu.nl.
