About The Program

AAI Sports Scholarship Scheme in India 2022-23 is an initiative by the Sports Control Board, Airports Authority of India for Indian students above 14 years of age. The aim of the scholarship is to enhance sporting standards in AAI by encouraging youth talent in India. The selected students will receive up to INR 16,000 per month.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must - 

  • Be Indian Citizens above 14 years of age
  • Be players who represent India in Sub-Junior/Junior/Senior National Championships, All India Inter-University Tournaments, National School Games in 2019-20 & onwards
Benefits

The selected wards will receive the scholarship in the following way - 

  • For students above 14 years and under 18 years - INR 12,000 per month.
  • For students above 18 years - INR 16,000 per month.
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. 
Step 2: Download the application form.
Step 3: Fill in all the required details.
Step 4: Send the complete & signed application in prescribed format with requisite enclosures in an envelope (13.5 x 9.5 inches) superscribed in the bold letter with “AAI SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2022-23” on the top left corner of the outer envelope to the under mentioned address latest by 21st February 2022: –

Selection Criteria

The wards will be selected under the following criteria - 

  • All applications received within the stipulated time shall be considered by a committee duly constituted by the President, Airports Authority of India Sports Control Board.
  • Cases of talented sportspersons who are not students will also be taken into consideration for award of scholarships subject to their meeting all requirements and verification/certification by the Secretary of the concerned State Federation/National Federation.
  • Cases of special merit not covered under the above conditions will be considered with the approval of the Chairman, AAI.

Terms and Conditions
  • The students have to submit the no-obligation form with the application form duly signed by the parents.
  • The quota of Ward under the Sports Scholarship Scheme is 20.
  • The AAI Sports Scholarship Scheme for the ward is available to a sportsperson a maximum of five times only.
  • The sportspersons under the ward category may apply Scholarship Scheme from outside quota, after availing the benefit of five times under the ward category.
  • There is no obligation on the part of the Airports Authority of India to give employment to the Airports Authority of India Sports Scholars.
