About The Program

Centre for Public Law, ILS Law College, Pune invites applications from students pursuing 3 years or 5 years law courses for 5th ILS National Alternate Judgement Writing Competition 2017-18. The objective of the competition is to enable students to rethink the earlier judgment of SC and HC, sharpen the writing and research skills and reimagine the reasoning underlying the cases. 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for the competition, an applicant must -

  • Be pursuing either 5 years or 3 years law courses. 

Note: Any law college/university can send in entries for the contest. 

How can you apply?

The eligible candidates can apply for the competition through following steps -
Step 1: Prepare and print the alternate judgment copy. 
Step 2: Pay registration fee of INR 602 (INR 510 + GST 18% i.e. 92) through NEFT using following details -
Principal, ILS Law College, Pune
Account Number- 490076558
Bank Name- Indian Bank
IFSC Code- IDIB000D007
Comment- "Registration for AJW 2017"
Step 3: Prepare a cover page stating - the name of competition, the name of the institution, the name of student authors, the signature of each author, details of payment, mobile number of participants and email. 
Step 4: The college/university will send all printed entries to below-given address -
Centre for Public Law, ILS Law College, Chiplunkar Road (Law College Road), Pune 411004.
Step 5: Also email a soft copy of the payment receipt and alternate judgment in MSWord format to cplajw2017@gmail.com mentioning "Fifth Alternate Judgment Writing 2017" in the subject. 

Terms and Conditions

Award Details

  • The first prize winner will receive INR 10000 cash prize
  • The second prize winner will receive INR 8000 cash prize
  • The third prize winner will receive INR 5000 cash prize. 

Rules for alternate judgment 

  • The language of judgment should be English.
  • The Judgement should not exceed 3500 words (including footnotes) in terms of the word limit. 
  • It should be submitted in MSWord format with Times New Roman font and font size of 12 for text & 10 for footnotes. 
  • Applicants should also mention page numbers on the bottom center. 
  • Alternate judgment should include a cover page too.
