The University of St Andrews invites applications for the University of St Andrews Global PhD Scholarship in Physics 2020 from doctoral research applicants. The scholarship aims to support an exceptional student undertaking doctoral research in the project - "Collective Behaviour of Driven Many-Body Quantum Systems". Selected scholars will receive annual stipend payable at the standard UK Research council rate of GBP 15,009, full tuition fees and other benefits.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be applying to a postgraduate research programme at the School of Physics and Astronomy in September 2020
- Not hold a doctoral degree
- Not be matriculated for a doctoral degree at the University of St Andrews or another institution
Benefits The selected scholars will receive -
- Full tuition fees coverage for the time spent at University of Andrews
- Annual stipend payable at the standard UK Research council rate of GBP 15,009
- Funding to help with living and maintenance costs for the time spent at the University of Bonn
Documents - CV or resume
- A research proposal
- A sample of academic written work in English
- Two original signed academic references
- Academic transcripts and degree certificates
- English language requirements certificate

Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on admission criteria and documents submitted by the candidates.
Terms and Conditions
- Awards cannot be deferred to a later date without prior written agreement.
- To receive and continue to receive payments, a student must be fully matriculated at the University of St Andrews.
- Students must meet and continue to meet the required eligibility criteria of the Award.
- Recipients must set a good academic example, e.g. strive for best results, attend classes, finish the course on time and continue to demonstrate the exemplary student attributes/grades by which he/she originally received the Award. If the student fails to do this, the Award may be withdrawn.
- The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr Jonathan Keeling in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of St Andrews and by Professor Corinna Kollath in the Institute for Physics at the University of Bonn.
- The scholarship award is tenable for up to 3.5 years.
- The students are expected to spend approximately half of the award term at the University of St Andrews and half at the University of Bonn.
