University of Nottingham – GREAT Scholarships 2024 is a joint initiative of the University of Nottingham, UK with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, for students from India, Mexico, Turkey, or Vietnam who wish to pursue one-year postgraduate taught courses at the university. A minimum of £10,000 will be awarded to 4 students (one from each country). Under this programme, students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 49 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Deadline15-May-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be a national (passport holder) of India, Mexico, Turkey, or Vietnam
- be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
- hold an offer to start a full-time master's (excluding Master's of Research course) at the University of Nottingham's UK campus, in September 2024
- fit the British Council’s profile of a GREAT Scholar
Note:- Students are eligible to apply for both the GREAT Scholarship and regional postgraduate scholarships. However, receiving the GREAT Scholarship automatically disqualifies them from receiving a regional scholarship.
Benefits Under this scholarship programme, a minimum of £10,000 will be awarded to 4 students (one from each country).
Note:-
- If awarded this scholarship, the recipient's tuition fees for their Master's degree will be directly reduced by the scholarship amount. This reduction will cover their tuition fee installments.
- The scholarship funds will not be directly disbursed to the recipient.
Documents - A copy of academic transcripts, including marksheets, certificates, etc.
- A letter of reference from a university professor or lecturer
- A personal statement outlining the applicant's academic achievements and career goals
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the steps mentioned below:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Applying' section and click on 'Apply Online'.
Step 4: Now, click on 'Apply Online' under 'New Application'.
Step 5: Click on Apply for a course, and select a course.
Step 4: Fill in the details, upload the necessary documents, and submit.
Step 5: After successfully applying for a course, the applicants will be considered for the scholarship based on the provided information.Note:-
- The applicants are required to pay an application fee of £50 for postgraduate taught courses and MRes courses. Application will not be assessed until the application fee has been paid and processed.
- If the applicants have already applied for the course, they can track the application status by simply signing in using valid credentials under the 'Existing applications' section.

Selection Criteria
The scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, the information provided in the application, and fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.
Terms and Conditions
- Applicants must inform regarding any existing or anticipated scholarships/sponsorships to avoid potential adjustments or withdrawal of this award due to duplicate funding.
- Applicants are required to maintain a living cost for the duration of their programme of study, if the scholarship has no provision for the same. The University recommends that students will need £1,023 per month for living costs. (Note:- This figure is based on visa requirements for an individual student, and those with their families may require considerably more funds.)
- The scholarship continuation is subject to satisfactory progress failing which the university might withdraw the assistance.
- The students are required to repay the scholarship amount, pro-rata, if they withdraw from their course before completion.
- The university reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship, if the provided information is found to be inaccurate.
- Deferring studies at Nottingham does not guarantee scholarship continuation. Scholarship recipients must reapply for the following year's awards with no guarantee of renewal.
