The Department of Biology, Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen is offering four fully-funded PhD scholarships within the biological sciences. The students having an MSc degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biomedicine, bioinformatics or any other related field can apply for this fellowship. The selected fellows will get annual stipend of DDK 325.625 and other benefits.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Hold an MSc degree in biology, molecular biomedicine, biochemistry, bioinformatics or closely related field with excellent results
- Have fluency in spoken and written English
Benefits - The selected scholar will get a salary of minimum DKK 325.625 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 44,980).
- Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
Documents Following documents are required :
- A cover letter describing the background, personal qualities, research interests, ideas for a PhD research project, motivation for applying for a PhD scholarship and a career in research (1-2 pages)
- CV
- Diploma and transcripts of records (BSc and MSc)
- Letter of recommendation from the previous academic supervisor
- Other information for consideration, e.g. list of publications (if any), work experience, experience from abroad etc.
- Full contact details (Name, address, telephone & email) of 1-3 professional referees

Selection Criteria
Initial shortlisting of applicants will be made on the basis of their past research experience and research potential. However, the final selection of the fellows will be made on the basis of their performance in the personal interview with the Interview Committee.
Terms and Conditions
- The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.
- Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
- The successful applicants will be required to choose a supervisor at one of the following sections of the Department of Biology -
- Biomolecular Sciences
- Cell and Neurobiology
- Computational and RNA Biology
- Ecology and Evolution
- Cell Biology and Physiology
- Freshwater Biology
- Marine Biology
- Functional Genomics
- Terrestrial Ecology
- Microbiology
