The University of Sydney invites applications for Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships 2019-20 from higher secondary passed or undergraduate students. The aim of this scholarship is to support meritorious international students who want to pursue a CRICOS registered bachelor or master’s degree by coursework studies at the University of Sydney. Selected students will get the benefits of up to AUD 40,000 for one year.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • Be an international student
    • Have applied for but not yet commenced a CRICOS registered bachelors or masters by coursework degree in Australia
    • Have received an unconditional offer of admission before the relevant close date
    Benefits

    Under this scholarship scheme, four different amounts are offered based on the rankings obtained by the candidates as per the selection criteria –

    • AUD 40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
    • AUD 20,000 payable for one semester
    • AUD 10,000 payable for one semester
    • AUD 5,000 payable for one semester
    How can you apply?

    There is no separate application process for this scholarship. Candidates having an unconditional offer by a specified cut off date will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

Selection Criteria

The selection committee will offer the scholarship to the deserving candidates on the basis of academic merit. 

Terms and Conditions
  • Applicants must be an International student as per the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
  • The applicants must not have commenced the coursework in order to be eligible for this scholarship.
  • Applicants pursuing any second degree at the University of Sydney are eligible for this scholarship if they have not received the benefits of the same earlier.
  • To continue with the scholarship in the next semester, the students must maintain a minimum of 65 Semester Average Mark (SAM) in each semester and have no outstanding fees.
  • The scholarship can be transferred to another major, degree or faculty but is not transferrable to another University.
