SERB Women Excellence Research Grant 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science & Technology (Government of India) to women scientists. The selected candidates will receive a research grant of INR 5,00,000 per annum and INR 1,00,000 per annum as overhead charges for a period of three years.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must -
- not exceed 40 years of age as on the submission date
- have recognition from any one or more of the following national academies such as the Young Scientist Medal, Young Associate etc.
- Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi
- Indian Academy of Science, Bangalore
- National Academy of Science, Allahabad
- Indian National Academy of Engineering, New Delhi
- National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi
- National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi
Benefits The selected candidates will receive a research grant of INR 5,00,000 per annum and INR 1,00,000 per annum as overhead charges for a period of three years.
Documents - List of publications resulting from the completed project (if any)
- Reprints of publications (if applicable)
- Details of patents from the completed project (if any)
- Patent documents (if applicable)
- Documents related to technology transfer (if any)
- List of complete publications, patents and any other significant contribution
- Certificate from PI
- Endorsement certificate
How can you apply? Eligible applicants can apply for the grant by following the below-mentioned steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email Id.)
Step 3: Navigate to 'How to apply online' and click on 'click here to register'.
Step 4: Fill in the required details to Register. (Note - If the applicant is already registered, kindly login using valid credentials)
Step 5: After successful registration, fill all the mandatory fields in Profile Details Section under 'User Profile' which includes biodata (as per defined template), Photo, Institute Address, etc. and submit.Note - The proposal has to be uploaded in a single PDF file not more than 10 MB as other technical documents (OTD).

Selection Criteria
The verification of eligibility criteria will be carried out by SERB. Only those applications found eligible would be considered for award selection.
Terms and Conditions
- Call for proposals would be made once in a year.
