Professor Jai Krishna and Professor SN Mitra Memorial Awards 2022 is an initiative by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) for eminent engineers, engineer scientists, and technologists. The award carries a cash award of INR 2 lakh and a citation.
Prof. Jai Krishna Award will be given each year in the disciplines of Engineering Section I (Civil Engineering), Engineering Section III (Mechanical Engineering), Engineering Section IV (Chemical Engineering), Engineering Section VII (Aerospace Engineering) and Engineering Section VIII (Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering).
Prof. S N Mitra Memorial Award will be given each year, in the disciplines of Engineering Section II (Computer Engineering and Information Technology), Engineering Section V (Electrical Engineering), Engineering Section VI (Electronics & Communication Engineering), Engineering Section IX (Energy Engineering) and Engineering Section X (Interdisciplinary and Special Engineering Fields and Leadership in Academia, R&D and Industry).

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Be an Indian citizen
- Be an eminent Engineer, Engineer Scientist, or Technologist of high achievement and standing
- Have made contributions of a high order to Indian Engineering and Technology, and acquired a high level of eminence and respect in the engineering community
- Not be a member of the INAE Governing Council during the year of the award
Benefits The award carries a cash award of INR 2 lakhs and a citation.
How can you apply? Follow the below steps to apply for the award:

Step 2: Log in to the account using valid credentials. (Note - If the applicants are not registered, fill in the required details and 'Register'.)
Step 3: Click on the respective award opportunity.
Step 4: Click on 'New Nomination' and search for 'Fellow Window'. [Note - Search for Fellow can be done based on Engineering Section followed by Name (not mandatory). Filters for search can be used based on Country, State and City.]
Step 5: Fill in the form and submit.
Step 6: Take a printout of the form after submitting it for the record.Note: In case of persistent issues in submitting the nominations through INAE Digital Platform, the scanned copy of the nomination can be forwarded by email to INAE Office, New Delhi at email ID - inaehq@inae.in.

Selection Criteria
The Selection Committee under the Chairmanship of President with three Vice-Presidents as members will recommend one nominee each for conferment of Prof. Jai Krishna Memorial Award and Prof. SN Mitra Memorial Award for approval of the Council.

Terms and Conditions
- The nominations can only be proposed by INAE Fellows.
- The awardees will be requested to deliver an inspirational talk on their exciting engineering experiences at the Academy Annual Convention.
- Nominations of engineers, engineer-scientists, and technologists will be invited from the INAE Fellowship in the fields of Engineering, Technology, and Technical Education Management.
- The nominee should not be a member of the INAE Governing Council during the year of the award.
- The nomination is valid for the present year and subsequent 2 years. All three years will be listed in the record shown on the view page.
