Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students - DNHDD 2023-24 is an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India for SC category students studying in Class 11 to postdoctoral level. The students of UT of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The aim of this scheme is to support the education of SC students and enable them to complete their studies by providing a maintenance allowance up to ₹ 1,200 monthly and other grants.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must - 

    • be a domicile of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu
    • belong to Scheduled Caste (SC) category
    • be studying in Class 11 to postdoctoral level
    • have a family income of less than ₹ 2,50,000 per annum from all sources
    Benefits

    The selected students will receive the scholarship in the following manner -

    Group Course

    Maintenance allowance (in ₹ per month) for 10 months

    Hosteller Day Scholar
    Group I (i) Degree and Postgraduate level courses in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance/Administration, Computer Science/Applications.
    (ii) Postgraduate diploma courses in various branches of management & medicine.
    (iii) C.A./I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A.,etc.(Applicable at day scholar rate only ₹ 550 per month)
    (iv) M.Phil, Ph.D and Post-Doctoral Programmes (D.Lit., D.Sc. etc.), Group I, Group II and Group III courses.
    (vi.) L.L.B, Integrated L.L.B, L.L.M

    Professional Courses leading to Degree, diploma, Certificate in areas like Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Nursing(B.Nursing), BFS, other para-medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics etc., Mass Communication, Hotel Management & Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Art, Financial Services (e.g. Banking,Insurance, Taxation etc.) for which entrance qualification is minimum Sr. Secondary (10+2) and Vocational stream, ITI courses and Polytechnic where entrance qualification is Class 12 or above.

    Note - Students will recieve the reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees.

    The students with disabilities will recieve the additional allowances in the following manner - 

    • Reader allowances ₹ 240 per month (Group I and II), ₹ 200 per month (Group III) and ₹ 160 per month (Group IV). 
    • Transport allowances up to ₹ 160 per month, if the students do not reside in the hostel which is within the premises of the educational institution.
    • Escort allowances of ₹ 160 per month for severely handicapped day scholar students with low extremity disabiity.
    • Special payment of ₹ 160 per month is admissible to any employee of the hostel willing to extend help to a severely orthopedically handicapped student residing in the hostel of an educational institution, who may need the assistance of a helper.
    • Allowance of ₹ 240 per month towards extra coaching to mentally retarded and mentally ill students.

    Note -

    • The disabled students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) covered under the Scheme can also get such additional benefits from other schemes, which are not covered under this scheme.
    • The disability as defined under the said Act has to be certified by the competent medical authority of the State Govt./UT Administration.

    How can you apply?

    Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -

    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below. 
    Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
    Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on 'New Registration' tab.
    Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button. 
    Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.  
    Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process. 
    Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
    Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

    Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

  • The recipient of this scholarship can not accept any other scholarship or stipend.
  • The candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education but in different subjects are not eligible.
  • Students who have completed their education in one professional line and want to continue studying for other professions are not eligible.
  • Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine are eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
  • Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible. The term correspondence includes distance and continuing education.
  • The candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong. 
  • The students domiciled in one State/UT but holding an SC certificate of another State/UT can avail the scholarship in the State/UT from which the SC certificate was issued.
