Pearson Research Funding 2019, University of Warwick, UK is inviting doctoral students, freelance researchers and faculty to submit research proposals. The selected applicant will receive funding up to GBP 30,000 for large projects. The selected researchers will need to conduct research to validate the global scale of English, Pearson test of English academic (PTE academic) and Pearson proficiency test.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility Faculty, doctoral students and freelance researchers are eligible to apply for the research funding.
Benefits The selected applicants will receive the following benefits:
- Pearson will provide researchers with PTE Academic test data (e.g., test taker responses, demographic data, scores) or test vouchers.
- Funding ranging from GBP 2000, GBP 5000, GBP 10,000, up to GBP 30,000 for large-scale projects.

Important Dates
- 28 February 2019: Last date for receipt of all applications

Selection Criteria
The selection committee will judge the proposals based on the following criteria:
- Match with the Research Call
- Sound theoretical foundation
- Clear methodology
- Feasibility of the research, given the budget and timeline
- Contribution to the validation of the Global Scale of English, The Pearson Test of English Academic and Pearson Proficiency tests
- Compliance with data protection & ethics standards
Note: The shortlisted applicants will be notified and may be contacted to provide further details about their proposal. Applicants will be notified if there are any delays to the timetable for the vetting process.

The SOP should include the following points:
- Title of a research proposal
- Name/s of researcher/s
- Research goal
- Theoretical background
- Required data and sample size
- Methodology and instruments
- Anticipated outcomes
- Contribution to the field of second/foreign language testing
- Project schedule and timeline Required budget
- Provide a detailed cost breakdown: e.g., institutional overhead, travel expenses, researchers' time, printing materials, student incentives etc
- Desirable length of the proposal is of 5-10 pages
