National Bioscience Award for Career Development 2020 is an award for young Indian scientists below 45 years of age who are engaged in basic and applied research in the areas of biosciences and biotechnology in the country. The selected fellows will receive a one-time cash award of INR 2 lakh and a project research grant of INR 15 lakh for 3 years (INR 5 lakh per year).

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be below 45 years as on application closing date
- Be an Indian citizen, who is engaged in basic and applied research in the areas of biosciences and biotechnology in the country
- Have made a significant and outstanding contribution in the areas of biosciences/biotechnology during the last 5 years
- Have submitted a research project for the advancement of his/her work in India for a period of the next 3 years
Benefits - Up to 10 awards will be given every year to the suitable candidates.
- Each award carries a one-time cash prize of INR 2 lakh along with a project research grant of INR 15 lakh (INR 5 lakh per year for a period of three years) for career development and a citation.

Selection Criteria
The selection of awardees for the award will be made on the basis of recommendations of the Selection Committee.

Terms and Conditions
- Only selected awardees would be informed. The awards will be presented to the selected scientists at a formal function, organized by the DBT.
- TA/DA to the awardees for attending the award ceremony will be paid by the Department of Biotechnology as per Government of India rules
