Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi invites applications for Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students Pursuing Professional/Technical Courses, Delhi 2021 from recognised colleges/professional/technical institutions. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to eligible students so that they can complete their higher education. Selected students will receive up to INR 1,860 per month for 12 months.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • Be a domicile of Delhi
    • Belong to SC/ST/OBC/Minority community
    • Be studying in recognised colleges/professional/technical institutions at undergraduate/postgraduate level
    • Have an annual family income not exceeding INR 2 lakh (for OBC students) and INR 3 lakh (for Minority students)
    Benefits

    Professional degree course students

    For hostellers – INR 1,620 per month for 12 months
    For day scholars – INR 900 per month for 12 months

    Professional post-graduate course students

    For hostellers – INR 1,860 per month for 12 months
    For day scholars – INR 960 per month for 12 months

    Professional diploma and post-graduate diploma course students

    For hostellers – INR 1,110 per month for 12 months
    For day scholars – INR 720 per month for 12 months

    Professional certificate course students

    For hostellers – INR 930 per month for 12 months
    For day scholars – INR 630 per month for 12 months

    General courses up to graduate level

    For hostellers – INR 804 per month for 12 months
    For day scholars – INR 420 per month for 12 months

    Post Graduate studies in Arts & Commerce & other subjects

    For hostellers – INR 930 per month for 12 months
    For day scholars – INR 630 per month for 12 months

    How can you apply?

    Step 3: Login using existing credentials or register as a new user.
    Step 4: Provide all the relevant details and follow the instructions.
    Step 5: Select the scholarship scheme and upload the required documents.
    Step 6: Submit the application.

Selection Criteria

All the candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be awarded the scholarship on the basis of academic merit.

Terms and Conditions
  • ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Applying candidates should not have less than 60% marks in the previous academic calendar.
  • The family income ceiling is not applicable in the case of SC/ST students.
  • Students getting a stipend from Institutions/Government during the course of study are also eligible to get the merit scholarship.
  • Minority community students should be a resident of Delhi for the past three years.
  • A caste certificate should be issued in the name of student or his/her father’s name by the competent authority of Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
  • In the case of a minority student, a declaration by parent/guardian in the prescribed format that his son/daughter belongs to a particular minority community is required to be uploaded on the portal.
  • Students with an academic gap up to 3 years are required to upload an affidavit on the portal.
